The Hammers signed the 20-year-old centre-back from Boavista in the summer of 2019 for around £3 million (Football Insider).
The young Portuguese defender is still yet to play a senior game for West Ham, however.

David Moyes is clearly not a big fan of Manuel Pellegrini’s signing.
Bringing the Portuguese starlet to the London Stadium now seems like an incredibly strange move from Moyes’s predecessor.
The Hammers have some exceptional young central defenders amongst their ranks including the likes of Aji Alese and Jamal Baptiste.
Frederick Alves was added to the squad in January as well.

ExWHUemployee envisages bleak West Ham future for Goncalo Cardoso
Perhaps the 20-year-old just isn’t suited to the English game. He does seem to be rather weak for a centre-back.
As a result, the Portuguese starlet has been bullied on occasion during youth team games.
Ex thinks the Portuguese defender’s time in East London will be short-lived:
Cardoso will be out of contract with West Ham in the summer of 2022.
It would be no surprise to see him leave the London Stadium in the summer. Whether the Hammers will get a fee anywhere near the £3 million that we paid for him two years ago, however, is highly debatable.
