West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has delivered a transfer update after the club were linked with a new target.

West Ham boss David Moyes has made no secret of his desire to bring Jesse Lingard back to the club on a permanent basis following his sensational loan spell last term.

But as things stand that move looks increasingly unlikely with Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting he wants to keep him at Old Trafford as a squad player.

West Ham eyeing ex Everton attacker as Lingard alternative – report

Now according to a new report from The Telegraph, West Ham are weighing up a move for CSKA Moscow star Nikola Vlasic as an alternative.

The Telegraph’s report claims Moyes could give the green light on a move for ex Everton midfielder Vlasic, who has excelled in Russia.

The Croatia international scored 12 goals last season and 13 in the previous campaign, having only made 12 Premier League appearances during his season at Everton.

Centre-back priority and Moyes leaning towards attacking midfielder who can fill second striker role

Moyes is desperate to add a new centre-back signing with a deal for Kurt Zouma seemingly his priority if reports are to be believed.

West Ham’s dilemma regarding a striker signing is plain for all to see after Michail Antonio’s brilliant start to the season.

The Hammers will struggle to attract a striker better than Antonio. And anyone that does come knows they will not play when Antonio is fit.

That is believed to be the thinking behind Moyes’s leaning towards signing a player in the Lingard mould who can play multiple positions and fill in as a second striker when needed.
