The 31-year-old is currently on loan at Old Trafford from Shanghai Shenhua.
He could leave Man United this month, however, according to a report from the Sun.
Hammers boss David Moyes is frantically looking for a new striker to help ease his side’s attacking woes this month.
Sebastien Haller left the London Stadium for Ajax last week, leaving Michail Antonio as West Ham’s only recognised senior centre-forward.
And ExWHUemployee suggested that Manchester United ace Odion Ighalo could be a target for the Hammers.
West Ham to swoop in for Odion Ighalo?
The 35-capped Nigeria international has struggled for game-time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, making just one Premier League appearance for the Red Devils.
In his day, Ighalo was a top striker. Those days are long gone, however. And West Ham should surely be making more ambitious moves in the transfer market.
The Nigerian does have a decent career record with 136 goals in 345 games to his name (Transfermarkt).
David Moyes bringing him to the London Stadium could be a very big mistake, however.
There is a reason why he’s only made one Premier League appearance for Manchester United this season.
West Ham should be going all out for Boulaye Dia or Patson Daka. If we are to make genuine progress as a football club we cannot slip back into the old habit of signing ageing players who are well past their best.
Man United striker Odion Ighalo certainly fits into that category. This is one to avoid.
