Tony Cascarino believes Chelsea should move for West Ham star Marko Arnautovic, talkSPORT reports.
Former Millwall striker Cascarino thinks that Arnautovic would be the perfect man to solve Chelsea’s concerns up front.
Likening the West Ham striker to Eric Cantona, Cascarino believes Arnie would “fit perfectly”.
Chelsea striker woes
Chelsea’s lack of ruthlessness up front could cost them a title challenge this season.
Alvaro Morata has been a major disappointment, with the Spaniard managing just seven goals in 20 games.
Olivier Giroud has scored five in 21 – most of which were off the bench – and Maurizio Sarri wants a new forward.
Marko Arnautovic at West Ham
After a slow start, Arnautovic has become a key player in this West Ham side.
Reborn as a striker, the Austrian netted 11 goals last season and has followed that up with five strikes this term.
Currently out injured, the 29-year-old is a fan favourite and a talisman at The London Stadium.
Cascarino on Arnautovic
Cascarino wants his former club Chelsea to sign Arnautovic. He told talkSPORT’s “Weekend Sports Breakfast” show: “You know the one player I’d really want to take?
“Arnautovic – I’d take him in a heartbeat. I think he’d fit perfectly into Chelsea.”
The former Republic of Ireland international compared Arnautovic to ex-Manchester United striker Eric Cantona.
He added: “The thing with Arnautovic – he reminds me of that Eric Cantona mindset. He thinks he’s good enough to be up there at the top table, and he is.”
Cascarino, who spent three years with West Ham’s rivals Millwall, added that Arnautovic needs to be challenging himself and that could involve leaving the Hammers.
The 56-year-old said: “I’m not saying he should leave West Ham, but he is a guy who needs to be winning things. He’s that good of a player.
“Arnautovic is a player capable of playing for one of the best teams in England.”
