It is fair to say not many West Ham United fans would have heard of Paul Onuachu.
But he is the latest striker name in the frame being linked with a move to West Ham this summer (All Nigeria Soccer).
It is the worst kept secret in football that Hammers boss David Moyes wants to sign a striker.
The transfer window has been open less than two weeks.

Hammers linked with Nigerian striker Onuachu, here’s everything you need to know
Well now West Ham are being linked with a move for Genk’s prolific 27-year-old forward.
But what do we know about the latest forward supposedly on Moyes’s West Ham shortlist?
The first thing to mention is that the forward has an excellent goal record in his career so far with a goal ratio of one in just over every two games.
Onuachu has hit 124 goals in 263 games.
But what West Ham fans will instantly spot is that Onuachu is the Nigerian Peter Crouch standing at 6ft 7in tall.
The giant striker started his career in Denmark with a club that will be familiar to West Ham fans, FC Midtjylland – from whom the Hammers signed Winston Reid.

Prolific 6ft 7in giant who scored against Man United and has the fastest goal ever for his country
He scored for Midtjylland in a famous 2-1 victory over Manchester United.
After netting 51 goals in 134 games for Reid’s old club, Onuachu was signed by Genk in 2019.
A first international call-up for Nigeria came in the same year and the reported West Ham target was to write his name in the history books.
That’s after Onuachu scored Nigeria’s fastest ever goal when he struck after just 10 seconds in a friendly against Egypt.
He was the “toast of Nigerian football” afterwards and has gone on to score three in 13 for the Super Eagles with two goals in four games this year so far.

Can reported West Ham target do it in the Prem?
What West Ham fans will be most interested in is his record at Genk where he has scored 49 goals in 65 games over two seasons in the Belgian top flight.
Whether Onuachu has what it takes to shine in the Premier League with West Ham remains to be seen.
But he could very well offer Moyes something completely different to Michail Antonio with his towering height.
West Ham were the most deadly side in the top flight from set pieces last season.
And having a 6ft 7in striker option would make them even more of a threat.
Ironically West Ham tried to sign Onuachu’s fellow Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo in January. That’s according to the player himself who has revealed why he snubbed the Hammers.
