When Everton signed striker Henry Onyekuru back in the summer of 2017 it left a few noses out of joint at West Ham United.
West Ham had chased the Nigerian forward for months.
But after the Hammers had done all the hard work helping Onyekuru eventually obtain a work permit, Everton pounced to sign him instead.
It exasperated West Ham’s increasingly desperate attempts to sign a striker at the time while Everton had a surplus.
And to rub salt in the wound the Toffees immediately loaned out the £7million signing out to Anderlecht (BBC Sport).
West Ham have the last laugh over Onyekuru

It appears the Hammers are having the last laugh, though, if reports from Turkey are to be believed.
Onyekuru has been closely linked with a permanent move to Galatasaray after scoring nine goals in 16 games for the Istanbul giants.
According to the daily Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Galatasaray are currently in negotiations with Everton.
West Ham have better striker options
The Toffees are playing hardball and insist they are happy to keep the player.
But despite Marco Silva’s chronic problems up front at Goodison Park Onyekuru has not been recalled.
Just over 18 months on from the controversial transfer West Ham are in a healthier position when it comes to striker options.
Marko Arnautovic is one of the best players outside the top four.
Toffees and Hammers relations strained?
His immediate future is with West Ham. And if he does leave for China in the summer the Hammers have been linked with several top quality replacements.
West Ham also have Javier Hernandez, Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll as options and young Xande Silva emerging.
Everton can’t buy a win at the moment and have failed to adequately replace Romelu Lukaku despite spending millions in the transfer market.
The Toffees seem to have a bit of a thing about West Ham.
