Earlier this week, Hammers News brought its readers and subscribers some exclusive West Ham United transfer news.

Indeed, it is our information that West Ham are interested in Nathan Ake as a potential option to replace Axel Disasi next season should the Frenchman not sign permanently.

How would you feel about more EFL signings at West Ham?

Hayden Hackney and Zan Vipotnik are ones to watch… 👀

West Ham United's Crysencio Summerville celebrates scoring his side's first goal during the Premier League match between Fulham and West Ham United at Craven Cottage on March 4, 2026 in London, United Kingdom.

Clearly, an awful lot depends on Premier League survival, which is now looking to be an ever-decreasing possibility for West Ham

Both Disasi and Ake are surely far too good to be playing in the Championship, after all.

Still, even if West Ham do remain in the Premier League – it seems that Ake has eyes on a move to Italy.

Ake could move to Serie A, ‘sources’ close to him rule out PSV Eindhoven move

According to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, sources close to Ake have ruled out the prospect of a move to PSV Eindhoven.

The defender is expected to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, but the report adds that a move to Serie A is a more likely outcome at this stage.

Ake is believed to want to continue his career in a leading European division, which surely rules out the Championship as well as the Eredivisie.

Quite what West Ham do in the summer in regard to their defensive options will be fascinating.

The extent of the rebuild clearly depends on what division they’ll be playing in, but it needs reshaping either way.

Sadly, the likes of Disasi and Ake look out of reach if they cannot stay in the Premier League.

While there are three games left to determine their fate, there need to be significant changes regardless of the outcome.

West Ham’s defence was such a mess before the arrival of Disasi and no one quite knows what the long-term future holds at this stage.
