West Ham United fans are feeling despondent after a lack of transfer action on deadline day.
But there may yet be time for the Hammers to conclude deals.
Premier League rules state clubs can seal deals after the 11pm deadline if they have the necessary transfer form paperwork in order.
That gives the authorities notice a deal has been struck and West Ham then have until midnight for any last minute overseas transfers.

‘Don’t go to bed’
West Ham then have an extra hour, until 1am, to get any domestic transfers over the line.
And that extra hour could prove crucial if the latest report on Sky Sports News is anything to go by.
Sky Sports reporter Aidan Magee, stationed outside West Ham’s Rush Green training base, reported an exciting update for Hammers fans at 8.25pm.
“I’ve just had some new information from Sky sources and it is regarding West Ham’s pursuit of Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez,” Magee told Sky Sports News.

Twist in Gomez situation?
“We’re told that talks are continuing between West Ham and Celta Vigo to try and finalise a summer deal for the striker who is very similar in size, stature and style to Marko Arnautovic.
“Although West Ham are prepared to pay the release clause of around £43 million they are willing to keep him at Celta Vigo for the rest of the season by which time they would get him for around £40 million so possibly some movement on that this evening.”

Fans disappointed at prospect of missing out on Maxi
That is contrary to reports elsewhere that the Gomez deal is dead in the water (Team Talk).
That news did not go down well with Hammers fans who had been excited at the prospect of a deal for the promising 22-year-old.
Claims of a new twist could make things very interesting indeed.
