West Ham on verge of signing Soucek?

Soucek is a defensive midfielder by trade but has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances this season, two of which came in the Champions League against Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
On the whole Soucek is not a player West Ham fans are familiar with.
Supporters took to social media after the news broke in a bid to find out more about the 24-year-old.
And they will be excited to hear what former West Ham midfielder Don Hutchinson and Sky Sports transfer guru Kaveh Solhekol had to say.

‘Cracking signing if they can pull it off’

Taking to Twitter, pundit Hutchinson posted a picture of an article claiming West Ham were hoping to sign Soucek, saying: “Cracking signing if West Ham can pull this one off.
“I done commentary on him in the Champions League mate,” Hutchinson said when asked how he knew about Soucek.
And he made it clear he felt he would be a massive upgrade on Carlos Sanchez, adding: “My word one of the worst I’ve seen.”

Speaking on the Sky Sports’s Transfer Show on Monday night, Solhekol have West Ham fans the lowdown on Soucek.

Transfer guru gushes over Czech midfield star

“He’s a defensive midfielder, he was the Czech player of the year, they (Slavia Prague) won the title, he’s been playing in the Champions League, he’s scored quite a few goals this season as well from midfield,” Solhekol said on Sky Sports’s Transfer Show.

“I actually watched him play for the Czech Republic in Prague against England in October and he was one of the best players on the pitch, he was very impressive that night when the Czech Republic won 2-1.

“If West Ham can tie this deal down, and it looks like they’re about to, I think potentially he could be a very good signing for them.

“He could be the player West Ham need if they sign him.

“A bit of good news for the fans this evening, because this guy is a very, very good player.”
