Gianluca Scamacca will head to London today and complete his move to West Ham United from Sassuolo tomorrow.

That’s according to highly-respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who claims that the 23-year-old has a medical scheduled tomorrow in East London.

News emerged on Friday that West Ham had agreed a deal to sign the 23-year-old Sassuolo hitman.

Sky Sports claim that the Hammers agreed a £30 million deal to sign Scamacca at the end of last week.

That fee allegedly could reach £35.5 million if performance related goals are reached by the striker.

And now it appears as though West Ham boss David Moyes is inching ever closer to finally getting this one over the line.

The Scot has had only one striker at his disposal for the past 18 months and that may well all be about to change…

West Ham close in on Gianluca Scamacca

Gianluca Di Marzio reckons that the 23-year-old striker will be a Hammers player before the end of tomorrow, should all medical checks go smoothly.

We have to say, if West Ham get the signing of Scamacca over the line for an initial £30 million, we think it will be sensational business for the club.

The 23-year-old is an absolute unit. He stands at 6ft 5in tall but don’t let that fool you, he’s so much more than a bog-standard target man.

Sempre Inter recently described the towering striker as an ‘unbelievable’ player.

He would certainly provide stiff competition for Michail Antonio at the London Stadium.

Scamacca possesses exceptional technique and has one of the most ferocious shots in the game at his disposal.

The 23-year-old bagged 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo this season (Transfermarkt). He really is a very good all-round striker.

The Italian should suit our playing style perfectly.

These are really exciting times for the Hammers fans with Moyes seemingly eyeing some blockbuster moves in the transfer market.

And if West Ham do end up signing Gianluca Scamacca, it would be a big statement move from the club.
