West Ham could splash some cash on deadline day according to well-renowned football journalist David Ornstein.
Ornstein was speaking live on Sky Sports at 8:01 am this morning and suggested that the Hammers are prepared to spend on deadline day.
Deadline day is once again upon us and West Ham boss David Moyes absolutely must get at least two new signings over the line before the transfer window slams shut.

The Scot’s centre-back and centre-forward departments at the London Stadium are currently stretched to the limit.

And it seems as though the Hammers could very well get a couple of new additions over the line before 11pm tonight…
David Ornstein deadline day West Ham update
Ornstein is one of the most highly-respected football journalists in the world. And as a result, whatever he says is taken with huge credence.
Known as the ‘Oracle’, Ornstein gets transfer stories spot on time and time again.
He told Sky Sports this morning how West Ham are ready to ‘splash the cash’ today:

“West Ham, there’s a possibility there that they will splash some cash. There will be some desperate late, moves at a number of clubs.”
Now, West Ham have been linked with a whole host of players already this January.
However, the additions of a central defender and a striker will be Moyes’s absolute priorities today.
West Ham have been linked with some exciting late moves to sign the likes of Darwin Nunez (Sky Sports), Ben Brereton Diaz (Evening Standard) and Armando Broja (Evening Standard).
Meanwhile, the Hammers are also thought to be chasing a plethora of centre-backs including the likes of Marseille ace Duje Caleta-Car (Tuttomercatoweb) and Liverpool star Nat Phillips (The Sun).
From all of those players, Darwin Nunez and Caleta-Car would probably be the dream double deadline day coup for the Hammers.
We’re not going to get excited until we see the players holding up the West Ham shirt though!
Let’s just hope that Moyes is successful in getting at least a couple of deals done today.
If the West Ham boss does make a couple of signings on deadline day, then a top four finish should be within our grasp this season.
