It was inevitable David Moyes would raid former club West Ham to bring new players to Everton after the Hammers were relegated – but now he has called off a deal and launched a crushing new one.

Just 48 hours after West Ham’s relegation was confirmed when Everton failed to beat Spurs on the final day, David Moyes reportedly launched a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

It was claimed Moyes ordered Everton’s board to move for West Ham’s Wan-Bissaka to replace Seamus Coleman.

Talks were supposedly held over a deal which was reported to be between £10-15m for the DR Congo right-back, who fell out of favour with West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo towards the end of the season.

But now Moyes has scrapped any Everton deal for Wan-Bissaka and has ordered a crushing new one – for fan favourite striker Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos.

How would you deal with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jean-Clair Todibo? 📝

Should we make them stay or let them go? 🤔

The Daily Mail claims Moyes has decided to snub a move for Wan-Bissaka and state the player was actually offered to them and not the other way around.

Some Hammers fans questioned Wan-Bissaka’s attitude last season after he was named Hammer of the Year in his debut campaign.

News no West Ham fan will want to hear, though, is that Moyes does instead want to sign Taty Castellanos.

The Argentine could and should have scored more goals for the Hammers after arriving for a sizeable £27m fee from Lazio in January.

While he was often profligate, Taty was almost single-handedly to thank for West Ham’s upturn in performances and results on the pitch with his work-rate, running, pressing and all-round positive attitude.

The 27-year-old scored West Ham’s goal of the season against Newcastle and is in the running for the Premier League honour too.

Many feel keeping Castellanos in the Championship would guarantee West Ham promotion back to the big time. Especially if the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek stay too.

After initial reports he had no intention of playing in the second tier, Taty appeared to commit his future to West Ham on social media.

But now Moyes and Everton want to test his and West Ham’s resolve according to Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg – who is well connected at the London Stadium.

Taty would actually be a great fit at Everton under Moyes and Toffees fans would love him for his graft and desire as well as his penchant for the spectacular.

New majority owner Daniel Kretinsky has vowed to keep as many of West Ham’s top stars as possible.

So Hammers fans will be hoping he makes good on that promise if Everton do come knocking for Taty.

Castellanos scored seven goals for West Ham after arriving in January and just two for Lazio before that, with three Serie A assists too.
