West Ham boss David Moyes spoke to reporters after his side’s disappointing 3-3 draw with Brighton at the London Stadium today, and delivered his verdict on Tomas Soucek’s debut display for the club, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers relinquished a two goal lead against the Seagulls in what could be a real blow to their survival hopes this season.
One positive was new-boy Soucek’s display though.
The Czech looked comfortable and assured in the middle of the park, and he will surely offer West Ham something different heading into the final 13 games of the season.
Soucek made 18 passes against Brighton, with a success rate of 66.6%, and he made one key pass. The midfielder also made five tackles and three interceptions. (Who Scored).
And Moyes seemed to be very impressed with the 24-year-old’s display against Brighton today, when speaking to reporters after the match, as quoted by Football.London:
“Tomas was very unlucky today not to score a couple of goals. I thought for his debut he did very well. “
Soucek needs to be given time to adapt to the Premier League. If he continues to improve, and adjust to the pace of English football, he will be exactly the kind of player West Ham need between now and May.
Hopefully he doesn’t take too long to settle in, however, with some huge games coming up.
