David Moyes claims West Ham announcements imminent after striking secret deals

Hammers boss David Moyes claims West Ham announcements are imminent after striking secret deals behind the scenes.

West Ham fans are waiting expectantly to see Moyes get some deals done in the January transfer window.

It is widely reported that West Ham are looking to sign at least one defender and a striker this month.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

But it seems the club has been getting its own house in order first before bringing new players in.

Speculation has abound for some time that striker Michail Antonio was in talks over a new contract.

West Ham announced that extension – which comes with a pay rise – on Friday.

Speaking to the press ahead of the FA Cup clash with Leeds, Moyes claims Antonio’s contract was agreed two months ago despite having only just been announced.

David Moyes claims West Ham announcements imminent after striking secret deals

And the Hammers boss claims other West Ham announcements are imminent after striking secret new deals with players behind the scenes, putting an end to the very unprofessional and public nature the club has done business in the past.

We’ve actually extended one or two contracts behind-the-scenes,” Moyes revealed in his pre-Leeds presser (whufc.com).

“We did Michail’s contract about two months ago, but we’ve also done another couple of players’s (contracts).

“We’ve gone about our business quietly, doing some things behind-the-scenes and trying to do things correctly.

“We’ve got a few more players who have signed contracts as well. We’ve got a few. I’m sure the club will announce it at the right time.

“We’re changing. We’re trying not to do our business in public. We’re trying to do our business in the correct fashion if we can and we’re getting round one or two players at different times and renewing their contracts. We’re pleased to have Michy’s done. I’m sure the club will do something on it.”

This is great news and the likely candidates for new deals will surely be Jarrod Bowen, Ben Johnson, Vladimir Coufal, Tomas Soucek and Angelo Ogbonna.

The dream of course for West Ham fans is that Declan Rice has finally been signed up to a new long-term deal.

We live in hope but that news would almost certainly have leaked by now given how hot the nationals are on Rice’s contract situation at West Ham.
