Darwin Nunez wants to join West Ham United on transfer deadline day.
That’s according to a report from 90 min who claim that the Hammers are trying to push through a late deal to sign the Uruguay International.
News broke yesterday that West Ham were eyeing up a shock move to bring the 22-year-old centre-forward to the London Stadium (90 min and Sky Sports).

David Moyes’s need to sign a new striker in the January transfer window has been well-documented already.
West Ham have had to make do with Michail Antonio as our only striker since we sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January 2021.

As good as the 31-year-old has been for the Hammers, that is just not good enough considering our supposed ambition to challenge both domestically and on the continent.
It seems as though Moyes is desperate to change all of that on deadline day though. And there is some very good news for the Hammers fans to digest this morning…
Darwin Nunez wants to join West Ham
90 min reckon that the Benfica striker is keen to move to the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm tonight.
And if we can get this one over the line, what an unbelievably exceptional signing Nunez would be for the Hammers.
The Uruguay international has been in fine form in Portugal this season with 20 goals in 25 games for Benfica to his name (Transfermarkt).
Nunez’s playing style is quintessentially South American. He is a tenacious presser, plays with real physicality and has real technical ability.

The 22-year-old seems to be ideally suited for the Premier League what with its intense and robust nature.
His release clause stands at a massive €150 million (£130 million) according to Record.
It is believed that Benfica have accepted a bid closer to £50 million for Nunez though (Sky Sports).
Let’s just hope that West Ham are able to navigate the logistics involved with getting such a huge transfer done on deadline day with the player himself in South America at the moment.
Nunez would be a stunning capture for the Hammers and it would be a real statement signing from the East London outfit, if we do indeed get it done and dusted.
