Sebastien Haller is closing in on his £20 million move from the Hammers to Ajax (The Guardian).

When the 26-year-old does eventually leave the London Stadium, David Moyes will be left with just one senior centre-forward – Michail Antonio.

We do have Ademipo Odubeko of course. The 18-year-old is far too young and unproven to be relied upon just yet by the West Ham boss, however.

Claret and Hugh threw a new one into the mix last night.

The West Ham insiders suggested that Christian Benteke could be a target for David Moyes.

The 29-year-old Eagles hitman is out of contract at Selhurst Park in the summer so Roy Hodgson could choose to cash in on him this month for a reduced fee.

Many West Ham fans would be fuming if we signed the 30-year-old, however.

Christian Benteke a target for West Ham?

The Belgian has really struggled for Crystal Palace since joining the south London club from Liverpool in the summer of 2016 for around £27 million (BBC).

Benteke has scored just 26 goals in 127 games in all competitions for Palace (Transfermarkt).

The former Liverpool and Aston Villa man is clearly not the kind of signing we should be making. Bringing him to the London Stadium would only serve to anger the West Ham fans.

Let’s just hope that this one has absolutely no substance to it whatsoever.
