West Ham have issued a teasing transfer update in response to question over targets following talks with Aston Villa over midfielder Jacob Ramsey.
- Hammers News exclusive
While remaining coy on the specifics, the Hammers have inadvertently revealed that they are pushing to make more signings behind the scenes.
It comes as a top West Ham insider confirms exciting news about Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey.
It was reported last month that West Ham had made enquiries about Villa star Ramsey.
Hammers enter fresh talks with Villa for Ramsey
The talented England midfielder really caught the eye with his powerful running in midfield for Aston Villa in recent seasons.
But he has fallen down the pecking order under Unai Emery, especially since the rise to prominence of Morgan Rogers.
The Guardian doubled down on claims West Ham want Ramsey, stating the club saw him as a replacement for Mohammed Kudus, who went on to be controversially sold to Spurs for £54.5m.
Aston Villa reporter Tom Collomosse has claimed for some time that the Hammers are seriously interested in Ramsey.

He reported Ramsey is a player Villa are willing to sell to West Ham as it was speculated David Sullivan was trying to lure him to east London when it looked like Emery would have to sell a key player to raise £40m in order to comply with PSR.
At the time West Ham’s owners candidly admitted they expected Ramsey to join Spurs.
That was before Tottenham came in for Kudus, flipping the entire situation on its head.
In the end Aston Villa used a loophole exploited by the likes of Chelsea as they sold their women’s team instead to raise the funds to satisfy PSR.
Coy West Ham issue transfer update after exciting talks
But it seems West Ham have been handed a second chance at Ramsey.
And at the same time there is mounting speculation that the Hammers are closing in on a new goalkeeper with Leicester’s Mads Hermansen and Parma’s Zion Suzuki the prime targets.
In fact a star tipped to be West Ham’s third signing mysteriously missed training, fuelling talk he’s set to join the Hammers.
Now coy West Ham have issued a teasing transfer update after exciting Aston Villa talks over Ramsey.
According to prominent Hammers insider ExWHUemployee, West Ham have started fresh discussions with Aston Villa midfielder Ramsey.

It is stated that the Irons have stepped up talks with Villa in a bid to try and agree a deal with the player and club.
Ramsey is reportedly prepared to talk with the club further and West Ham intend to convince him he can play a leading role in east London.
Hammers News reached out to West Ham’s hierarchy amid talk of moves for the likes of Ramsey, Suzuki and/or Hermansen.
West Ham’s owners revealed the priority was to sign a goalkeeper this week.
The Hammers board was asked whether there has been any progress on that front or Ramsey amid the exciting new revelations about talks with Aston Villa for the 24-year-old.
West Ham were playing their cards very close to their chest, though.
However, the response is inadvertently encouraging as it does at least confirm West Ham are working on multiple new signings.
Hammers inadvertently tease transfers could be close
“I can’t comment further as we don’t want rivals to know our targets,” the top spokesman for West Ham’s owners told Hammers News when asked about Hermansen, Suzuki and Ramsey.
The fact West Ham are being so careful when asked about the moves very much suggests something is afoot. Perhaps even close.
Dynamic, athletic, pacy and powerful, Ramsey alone would transform West Ham’s entire team
After bursting on to the scene at Aston Villa, Ramsey signed a new five-year deal in 2022.
That means he has two years left and so now would be the time to sell if Villa want to bring in decent money for the Birmingham-born midfield dynamo.
How much it would take to get Ramsey out of Villa remains to be seen.
But a price tag in the region of £35-40m has been attached to the star’s name previously.
