RMC Sport have reported that West Ham boss David Moyes wants to sign the 24-year-old French striker to replace Haller.

The Athletic then claimed that the former Celtic man is unlikely to move to West Ham, however, as he is not keen on joining the east London outfit.

Hammers insider ExWHUemployee backed those claims up by suggesting that it is unlikely that West Ham will bring Moussa Dembele to the London Stadium this month.

The good news is that David Moyes should at least have some funds at his disposal now.

Moussa Dembele would be a great addition for the Hammers. Judging by the conflicting reports, however, everything seems to be up in the air at the moment.

The 24-year-old joined Lyon from Celtic in the summer of 2018 for around £20 million (RMC Sport).

And he could be available for around £30 million this month (talkSPORT).

Dembele has struggled in front of goal recently, but he still possesses a decent record for Lyon with 45 goals and 13 assists to his name in 108 games for the Ligue 1 outfit (Transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old certainly won’t come cheap.

And yes it may be unrealistic to expect West Ham to sign Dembele this month.

With Sebastien Haller having left for Ajax, however, signing the former Celtic man is at least a possibility. We certainly could do a lot worse than Moussa Dembele.
