Conflicting report claims West Ham in talks to sign Djibril Sidibe

According to RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, West Ham are currently in talks to sign Monaco full-back Djibril Sidibe.

This report comes in direct contrast to earlier claims made by ExWHUemployee that the Hammers are not in fact interested in signing the Frenchman.

West Ham currently have Ryan Fredericks and Pablo Zabaleta as right-back options. With the Englishman’s injury problems, however, and the Argentine set to retire at the end of the season, it could be argued that Manuel Pellegrini actually needs to sign another right-sided defender.

And Sidibe, 26, would be just the ticket for the Hammers.

The Frenchman possesses real pace, and he attacks down the right hand flank with intent. In fact, he is just as useful going forward as he is defensively.

According to France Football, he is available for just €15 million (£13 million) this summer. And in today’s day and age, that would represent excellent value for money for West Ham.

It remains to be seen, however, whether RMC or ExWHUemployee turns out to have the right information.
