West Ham want a new centre-back this summer. And according to The Guardian, Stuttgart defender Ozan Kabak is a target for the Hammers.
Kabak is wanted by a number of clubs, including Bayern Munich, but West Ham will compete for his services. He impressed despite Stuttgart’s relegation from the Bundesliga.
The Turkey U18 starlet only moved from Galatasaray to Stuttgart in January. But he quickly established himself as a regular for the German side.
Kabak was a standout performer as Stuttgart were demoted after losing the relegation play-off with FC Union Berlin. But now he could leave.
The 19-year-old has a £13.2m release clause in his contract, which West Ham could trigger. The Irons could partner Kabak with Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena or Angelo Ogbonna.
Kabak already has a handful of games under his belt in the Super Lig and the Bundesliga. His next challenge could be the Premier League.
West Ham fans took to Twitter to discuss these latest defender rumours. Here are several tweets from Hammers supporters after the Kabak rumours emerged on social media.
