West Ham have had some wonderful players come through their youth ranks in recent years.
Names like Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick and Joe Cole have all graduated from the Hammers youth setup in the past 20 years.
And West Ham are well renowned for providing talented youngsters with the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Declan Rice is the latest in a long line of bright young stars, despite the fact that he joined the Hammers from Chelsea when he was 14.
So it was surprising yesterday when a Manchester United fan account on Twitter chose to criticise the 20-year-old, along with West Ham’s academy:
And respected Hammers insider ExWHUemployee took to Twitter, aiming a dig back at United:
Rice will undoubtedly go on to become one of the game’s best midfield players.
He will obviously make mistakes along the way, but that will only make him stronger.
And if Manchester United fans are honest, they would surely love to have the West Ham ace at Old Trafford.
