Norwich City have signed Sam Byram from West Ham. Byram joins Norwich for an undisclosed fee (canaries.co.uk) and pens a four-year deal with his new club.

According to Sky Sports News, Norwich have only paid a bargain £750,000 transfer fee for Byram. In today’s market, this looks like a shrewd piece of business for the Canaries.

Despite Byram’s injuries limiting him to less than 40 West Ham games in three-and-a-half years, he impressed at Nottingham Forest. Norwich are giving Byram the chance to stay in the Premier League.

The Canaries recently won promotion to the top-flight again and Daniel Farke has bolstered his defensive options with the capture of Byram. The 25-year-old will provide cover and competition with England youth starlet Max Aarons at Carrow Road.

Norwich fans took to Twitter to discuss their latest signing. Quite a number of Norwich fans are pleased with this signing; Byram is low-cost, still relatively young and he has a point to prove.

While West Ham fans bemoaned Byram’s £750k exit, Norwich fans have been reacting positively. Here are some tweets capturing their reaction to signing Byram.
