Chelsea are putting the pieces in place for a move to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus after a major development and it’s bad news for Spurs despite their talks advancing.

As far as West Ham’s owners and many fans are concerned, it could be a case of Chelsea to the rescue after Tottenham made the first concrete move for Mohammed Kudus.

Spurs have been linked with a move for West Ham attacker Kudus from as far back as April.

But many supporters felt it was a non-starter given the fierce rivalry between the Hammers and Tottenham, which has resulted in an unofficial transfer embargo between the London clubs over the last 14 years.

However, that landscape has changed due to the desperate situation West Ham find themselves in.

Hammers fans angry at prospect of selling Kudus to Spurs

While Chelsea are also among West Ham’s traditional top three rivals behind Millwall and Tottenham, a move to Stamford Bridge for Kudus would be more palatable for Hammers fans.

Many West Ham supporters are furious Kudus could be sold to Spurs after the club confirmed they may be forced to do just that.

While Hammers fans accept Kudus must be sold to raise funds for Graham Potter’s rebuild, the idea of selling one of the club’s top players to Tottenham has seen the West Ham board come under fire.

West Ham have held two rounds of talks with Chelsea over Kudus in the last month.

The Blues have been mulling signing Kudus from the Hammers since initial discussions last month.

And The Guardian states the Irons held fresh talks with Chelsea about the wantaway 24-year-old recently.

Now the Chelsea plan is coming together for a Kudus move despite controversial Spurs talks with West Ham.

According to Fabrizio Romano has claimed negotiations are now “well underway” between West Ham, Spurs and Kudus about a move to north London.

But a development at Chelsea means Tottenham cannot count their chickens yet.

“Tottenham are seriously working for Mohammed Kudus,” Romano states on his YouTube channel.

“Conversations are ongoing, talks are ongoing, the player is open to making the move to Tottenham and that’s good for Spurs.

“But as I told you also Chelsea remain interested in the player as well as one other club.

“Spurs are working with the player’s agents and West Ham to give the player to Thomas Frank, they think he’d be an excellent addition.”

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca recently confirmed Chelsea have made signing a new versatile forward/winger their top priority next.

Especially with Mkyhaylo Mudryk facing a possible four-year doping ban.

Maresca said: “We’re going to decide to go for a winger not because of Misha. It’s something quite clear that it’s a position that we need to improve.”

A top Chelsea insider has confirmed Kudus is next on the club’s hit list this summer.

Chelsea still eye Kudus as Arsenal move for Madueke

Hammers News reported that Kudus could well be that player because Chelsea are pushing to offload Noni Madueke.

Now, Chelsea could be about to rescue West Ham’s owners from themselves, by saving the Hammers from having to sell the Ghanaian to Tottenham.

Because it is being widely reported that Arsenal are very much discussing Madueke internally in a deal that is not linked in any way to their interest in Eberechi Eze.

Romano confirmed Arsenal are pushing to sign Madueke.

And Football 365 states ‘an offer has been made as talks begin’ over the England winger.

Maresca already wants a versatile forward/winger – so if it becomes clear Madueke will be leaving too then Chelsea are expected to pounce.

As far as West Ham are concerned, selling Kudus to Chelsea is the lesser of two evils.

In an ideal world, the Hammers would be keeping Kudus and building around the likes of him and Jarrod Bowen.

But the club’s PSR situation – which is already a seriously sore subject among fans – dictates sales have to be made.

Now David Sullivan and Hammers supporters will be watching the Madueke to Arsenal situation carefully.

And Sullivan would be wise to hold off sanctioning the sale of Kudus to Spurs while that is a developing move – because Chelsea could ride in on their white horse to prevent a big backlash towards him and the rest of the West Ham board.

There would be no lack of irony in Madueke being the player to wreck Tottenham’s hopes of signing Kudus given the Chelsea winger used to be at Spurs.
