West Ham United target Tammy Abraham is set to leave Chelsea and now Thomas Tuchel has delivered a brutally honest verdict on his relationship with the striker.

West Ham have been linked with Abraham since selling Sebastien Haller in January.

The striker is said to be David Moyes’s prime target to add to West Ham’s threadbare forward options.

Will West Ham pounce after Roma have bid accepted for Abraham?

And some Hammers fans worried about the lack of arrivals so far this summer are concerned now that Roma have had a bid of £34 million accepted for Abraham (Sky Sports).

West Ham now face a race against time to match Roma’s bid.

But one thing is clear, Abraham will be leaving even if he rejects Roma.

That’s after a brutally honest assessment from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel who has admitted he simply did not trust Abraham (Sky Sports).

Tuchel admits he simply doesn’t trust Tammy

“He was clearly not happy with the last half a year and maybe he has reason also not to be happy and maybe it was also my fault not to push him, not to trust him on the same level I maybe trusted other players,” Tuchel admitted in an interview with Sky Sports.

“I can absolutely understand that he wants more minutes.

“So the decision will be ‘how do we plan, what are Tammy’s plans, does he fight his way back into the team from the position where he ended last season or does he want to change club to have the chance of being a regular starter?'”

West Ham do have Jarrod Bowen who can operate as a forward.

Hammers must sign striker but still three weeks to go

But Michail Antonio is the club’s only true out-and-out striker.

Given the 31-year-old’s injury problems and the fact West Ham are facing a jam-packed season with Europa League football, many supporters believe it would be unfathomable to go into the campaign without adding a new striker.

But West Ham do have another three weeks to get a signing done before the window closes.

Whether that is Abraham remains to be seen.
