With Aaron Cresswell on the wrong side of 31 and Arthur Masuaku better suited to the wing-back role, the 26-year-old Italian would be an excellent addition for West Ham.

Chelsea ace Emerson Palmieri Napoli bound?

Mimmo Malfitano suggested that the 26-year-old could be en route to Naples, as quoted by Area Napoli.

The Italian journalist suggests that Luciano Spalletti is keen to bring the 26-year-old – a player he managed at Roma, to Napoli this summer.

That is obviously bad news for West Ham. But our hopes of signing him shouldn’t be over just yet.

There is still plenty of time to hijack Napoli’s alleged move for the Blues star.

Palmieri, who earns £70k-a-week according to WT Foot, is an attacking left wing-back in every sense. Similarly to Masuaku, he isn’t the best defensively, but is great going forward.

The Chelsea star would add some real depth to our left-back / left wing-back options. He has bundles of energy and pace and possesses a wicked delivery, all covered extensively here by Football.London.

The Guardian claims that it will take around £18 million to prise Emerson away from Stamford Bridge.

That seems like great value. And the West Ham owners really should be doing everything they can to hijack Napoli’s alleged move to sign the Italy international.
