A source close to the West Ham board has posted a picture of a star in the club’s new kit as a deal announcement is now imminent.
West Ham fans are scarred from transfer collapses and false dawns down the years.
It’s understandable then that many Hammers supporters refuse to get too excited about a signing until they see him wearing the West Ham shirt.
Well there’s good news those who air on the side of caution among the West Ham faithful.
The Irons completed the exciting signing of flying Dutchman Crysencio Summerville on Saturday night.
Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui then followed that up with the eye-catching capture of Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug yesterday.
West Ham window business continues apace
Hammers News reported that West Ham would announce the signing of free agent Guido Rodriguez next.
A World Cup and two-time Copa America winner with Argentina, the 30-year-old left Real Betis this summer and was set to join Barcelona.
But Xavi leaving put paid to that move with alleged West Ham managerial target Hansi Flick taking over at the Camp Nou instead.
The move for Rodriguez came somewhat out of the blue at the end of last week.
There have been claims West Ham have secured the combative midfielder’s signature and that he passed his Hammers medical yesterday.
Now a board source has posted a picture of the star in the new West Ham kit as a deal is surely imminent.

Picture of Rodriguez in new West Ham kit as deal surely imminent
Sean Whetstone counts majority owner David Sullivan and vice-chair Karren Brady among his close contacts.
He has taken to X with a big update on West Ham’s transfers.
And included in it is a picture of Rodriguez all smiles and giving the thumps up as he dons the claret and blue during his media duties ahead of his unveiling.
“The signing of Guido Rodriguez fills the penultimate squad position of non-home-grown players in the squad of 25,” Whetstone said alongside the picture in the post you can see below.
“One homegrown squad vacancy remains unfilled which West Ham will hope will be filled by Aaron Wan-Bissaka so one squad position would remain after that unless there are further departures.
“Sixteen non-homegrown players: Fabianski, Zouma, Coufal, Rodriguez, Paqueta, Kudus, Mavropanos, Summerville, Alvarez, Cornet, Areola, Fullkrug, Aguerd, Soucek, Irving and Emerson.
“Seven homegrown Players: Cresswell, Ward Prowse, Antonio, Ings, Bowen, Foderingham and Kilman.”
Argentine could walk straight into West Ham team
Rodriguez will reunite with former Club America midfield partner Edson Alvarez at the London Stadium.
He is expected to be unveiled on a two-year contract by West Ham later today.
Rodriguez will earn a reported £40,000 per week with the Hammers.
Some have questioned where another defensive midfielder will fit into the team.
But on the evidence of pre-season, Rodriguez will go straight into West Ham’s starting line-up.
Tomas Soucek has been a superb servant for West Ham. But Rodriguez is much more comfortable on the ball than Soucek and will offer more specialist protection for a backline that desperately needs it.
The 30-year-old Argentine is an excellent reader of the game and is also renowned for scoring the odd screamer from long range.
