West Ham have suffered a blow in their reported pursuit of Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen, with the Northern Echo claiming that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has been persuaded by his scouts to land the 22-year-old.
Hammers insider ExWHUemployee claimed earlier this week that the east London club are keen on signing the Tigers attacker in January:
James; when I ignore questions is often when I’ve been asked and answered them many times before…..yes we have scouted him and a few other people recently whose names I’m holding off for our podcast return. This is also manager dependent too https://t.co/dG2jr9mCSN

The Express claims that Hull want around £20 million for Bowen. And in today’s day and age, that would represent great value for whichever club wins the race for his signature.
The Englishman has been on fire for Hull this season, with 17 goals in 23 appearances to his name, and he would be an excellent addition for either West Ham or Tottenham.
If Spurs are in fact now in the race for the 22-year-old, however, it will be a lot harder for the Hammers to land their man.
West Ham will be able to offer Bowen more chances of regular first-team action, however.
Much will depend on how much ambition the Hull ace actually has to achieve things in the game.
If the Hammers do manage to sign Bowen, it could turn out to be a very significant piece of business for the east London club.
It seems as though Tottenham will now have something to say about that, however.
