Marca claimed two days ago that Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the Real Sociedad hitman to the London Stadium.

It seems as though the 29-year-old Brazilian could now be set to link up with Nuno Espirito Santo at Molineux, however.

The Telegraph claims that Wolves are close to securing a loan deal for the Real Sociedad ace with an option to buy him in the summer.

Missing out on Willian Jose would be a big blow for West Ham. Especially considering our desperate need for another centre-forward.

The Hammers cannot rely on Michail Antonio to play the remainder of the season without suffering another injury.

His hamstring problems are a real concern and there is just too much pressure on his shoulders at the moment.

Willian Jose joining Wolves would be a big blow for West Ham

The 29-year-old is an established forward at the very highest level. The South American is incredibly hard working and is apt at playing the lone striker role.

Willian Jose has a decent record for Sociedad with 62 goals and 15 assists to his name in 170 games for the La Liga outfit (Transfermarkt).

He clearly isn’t a prolific striker. The 29-year-old would provide adequate competition for Michail Antonio, however.

It could end up being a moot point though.

Wolves seem to be in the driving seat. And if Nuno brings the Brazilian to Molineux, West Ham could be made to regret not pushing harder to sign the Sociedad ace.
