Arsenal have made contact with Lazio to sign alleged West Ham target Joaquin Correa according to a report from Solo La Lazio.
Hammers boss David Moyes has recently been linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old attacker (Italy24News).
The Scot’s priority will be to sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal this summer.
Should we fail in our pursuit of the 28-year-old Manchester United ace, however, Lazio star Correa would not be a bad alternative at all.
Blow for West Ham as Arsenal join Joaquin Correa race
Solo La Lazio claims that the Gunners have already made contact with the Argentinian ace’s agent.
Mikel Arteta needs to add more creative talent to his ranks at the Emirates in the summer.
So it would be no surprise at all if Arsenal are actually trying to bring Correa to north London.
The Argentina international could be available for around €30 million (£25 million) according to Italy24News.
That’s pretty good value for a player with Correa’s talent and potential.
The South American has electric pace and exceptional balance according to well-renowned scouting website Total Football Analysis.
Correa can play anywhere along the front-line. He was in fine form for Lazio last season with 11 goals and six assists to his name in 38 games (Transfermarkt).
Missing out on the Lazio ace to Arsenal would be a big blow for West Ham. We can offer him European football, however – something that the Gunners can’t.
And who knows, perhaps that will be enough to convince Correa into moving to the London Stadium rather than the Emirates this summer.
