Everton have been dealt a blow with the news that West Ham have entered the race to sign Lorient hitman Terem Moffi.
That’s according to a report from Foot Mercato who claims that Everton and West Ham could be set to battle it out for the fleet-footed 23-year-old striker in the January transfer window.
Hammers boss David Moyes and Toffees manager Frank Lampard both need to bolster their respective attacking ranks as a matter of urgency this month.
West Ham and Everton have been incredibly goal shy this season. A top-class centre-forward in January for either club will be worth his weight in gold.

And it seems as though the East London and Merseyside clubs could be going for the same player…
Everton face West Ham competition for Terem Moffi
Foot Mercato claim that the Toffees and the Hammers are in the race to sign the Nigeria international forward this month.
What a superb signing Moffi would be for either West Ham or Everton.
He would take either club’s attacking play to a whole new level entirely.
West Ham are surely better placed than Everton to sign the Lorient ace though, with European football on offer at the London Stadium.
He is absolutely rapid and is strong as an ox. He is generally a nuisance for opposing defenders and would offer a completely different option to Gianluca Scamacca through the middle, what with his power and pace.

He’s been on fire in Ligue 1 this season, with 10 goals in 16 games for Lorient to his name (Transfermarkt).
Score Nigeria reckon that he could be available for around €25 million this winter (£22 million).
That sounds like absolutely outstanding value to me.
I strongly believe that West Ham are better placed than Everton to sign Terem Moffi. And if the Hammers win the race for the Nigerian, it will be a big blow for the Toffees.
