'Biggest backward step' - West Ham fans furious with Mo Diame return rumours

West Ham have been linked with a shock move for Mo Diame. According to Sabah, West Ham and Crystal Palace will push Fenerbahce for Diame.

The 31-year-old (who turns 32 next month) is out of contract at Newcastle United. The Magpies have shown little interest in extending his deal.

He would be available on a free transfer. But he has a history with West Ham and he is a very unpopular name in East London.

Diame used to play for West Ham, racking up 79 appearances and seven goals in two years with the club. He signed from Wigan Athletic and moved to Hull City.

West Ham fans will never forget how the Senegal international pushed for a West Ham exit. He said he wanted to join a top-six club and Hammers supporters were in hysterics when Hull snapped him up.

Joint-owner David Gold even weighed in with a joke. Hull were relegated later that year before finishing in the top-six of the Championship the following season.

The vast majority of West Ham fans are vehemently against re-signing Diame. Ignoring many tweets with expletives, here are several family-friendly opinions on a potential Diame return.
