Big boost for West Ham as report claims club want to sell £14m David Moyes target in January

Marseille are keen to sell David Moyes target Duje Caleta-Car in the January transfer window with West Ham eyeing up a move.

That’s according to a report from Le 10 Sport who claim that Marseille are ready to cash in on the 25-year-old centre-back this month.

Moyes wants to bring Caleta-Car to the London Stadium in the January window according to a report from RMC Sport.

The West Ham boss desperately needs to bolster his central defensive ranks before the end of the month with Angelo Ogbonna out for the season and Kurt Zouma still yet to return from a hamstring tendon problem.

And it seems as though we may well have a great chance to do just that…

David Moyes target Caleta-Car available in January

Marseille are ready to cash in on the 6ft 4in centre-back this month according to a report from Le 10 Sport. He is out of contract at the Stade Velodrome in the summer of 2023.

So after this month, his value will undoubtedly begin to plummet.

L’Equipe claims that the Croatian could be available for just £14 million in January.

We think that Caleta-Car would be a superb addition for West Ham for that kind of money.

Well-renowned football analysis and scouting website IBWM recently described Caleta-Car as an ‘exceptional talent’.

He is tall and commanding in the air and very comfortable with the ball at his feet as well.

The 25-year-old is a very strong all-round defender and he would improve the Hammers’ back-line immeasurably.

In 11 Ligue 1 outings for Marseille this season, the Croatia international has averaged 1.2 tackles and 1.7 clearances per game. He has also won an average of 1.1 aerial duels per match and has recorded an incredibly impressive completion rate of 91.9% from 67.2 passes per game (Who Scored).

If Moyes manages to sign Caleta-Car this month, we will be in great shape not only for the remainder of this season but for years still to come.

£14 million for the 25-year-old would be superb value and signing him seems like an absolute no-brainer for David Moyes.
