According to a report from 90 Min, West Ham United are monitoring Aaron Boupendza ahead of a potential summer swoop for the Hatayspor hitman. The Hammers may have their work cut out, however, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang allegedly having recommend him to Arsenal.
Hammers boss David Moyes will be prioritising the addition of a top class centre-forward this summer.
If he isn’t, he certainly should be.
West Ham failed to replace Sebastien Haller in January after the Ivorian left the London Stadium for Ajax.
And bringing in at least one established hitman before next season will be pivotal to the Hammers’ hopes of making further progress.
Aaron Boupendza would be a very good option for West Ham.
Aubameyang has recommended West Ham target to Arsenal
He has scored 18 goals in 26 Super Lig appearances for Hatayspor (Transfermarkt).
Boupendza is a great finisher and dribbler and is also very strong in the air according to Who Scored. The 24-year-old seems to be tailor made for the Premier League.
90 Min claims that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has recommended his Gabon international teammate to the powers that be at Arsenal.
And that could be a real problem for West Ham.
If Gunners boss Mikel Arteta makes a concrete move to bring the 24-year-old to the Emirates this summer, the Hammers will face an uphill battle if they are to sign him.
Much will depend on where we actually end up finishing in the Premier League table this season.
If we finish above Arsenal then we will have eery chance of beating the North London outfit to Boupendza’s signature.
Auba recommending the 24-year-old to the Gunners hierarchy could potentially cause a problem for West Ham, however.
