Big blow for West Ham as player admits he’s been told Liverpool want to sign him this summer

West Ham United target Arnaut Danjuma is allegedly also wanted by Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

When speaking to Ziggo Sport a couple of months ago, Danjuma suggested that Liverpool were following him very closely:

“I’m always as honest as possible about it. I’ve never had contact with clubs or anything like that during the season. But I was informed that Liverpool was following me closely.”

West Ham were handed a boost yesterday with the news that Villarreal are already lining up a replacement for the six-capped Holland international.

That was really good news, but now there’s some potentially bad news to digest.

Hammers manager David Moyes could face competition from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for Danjuma’s signature this summer.

The Villarreal forward would literally be the perfect summer signing for West Ham. So the fact that Liverpool are allegedly sniffing around as well is certainly not ideal…

Liverpool chasing West Ham target Danjuma

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the Dutch attacker to the London Stadium this summer according to a report from The Guardian.

Danjuma could cost around £40 million this summer according to The Daily Mail.

And with the 25-year-old having admitted that Liverpool want to sign him, West Ham may well face a real battle this summer.

He will be a truly exceptional addition for whichever club wins the race for his signature in the summer transfer window.

He bagged 16 goals and four assists in 34 games for the La Liga side last season (Transfermarkt).

The 25-year-old can play anywhere across the front-line and already has experience of playing in the Premier League.

Danjuma has pace and power in abundance and made his name on the very biggest stage in the Champions League last season.

The Dutch flyer would take the Hammers’ attacking play to a new level entirely if he does end up moving to the London Stadium.

However, Liverpool may well end up causing West Ham big problems in our pursuit of Arnaut Danjuma this summer.

One saving grace for the Hammers is the fact that Klopp has already brought Darwin Nunez to Anfield. So if Mohamed Salah stays, Liverpool probably won’t be signing another top-class attacker this summer.
