Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring Raum to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window according to a report from BILD.
With Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag allegedly keen to bring the Germany international to Old Trafford as well, however, West Ham may well have our work cut-out.
Signing a new left-back will be one of the main priorities for Moyes in the summer transfer window. Upgrading on Aaron Cresswell will be absolutely vital ahead of the new Premier League season.
David Raum would be the ideal signing for us. There could be trouble ahead for the Hammers though…
Manchester United make David Raum enquiry
Signing a new left-back is clearly very high on the agenda of Man United boss Ten Hag this summer.
And football journalist Jonas Hen Shrag claims that Manchester United have already made a tentative enquiry to bring David Raum to Old Trafford this summer:
The 20-time English league champions have Europa League football on offer at Old Trafford – something that we cannot provide at the London Stadium next season.
Ten Hag is expected to oversee an exciting new era in charge of Manchester United as well and the chance to play for a club the size of the Red Devils may well appeal to the Germany international.
Missing out on Raum would be a bitter pill to swallow for the Hammers. He’d be a truly sensational addition for us.
The 24-year-old is valued at around £34 million according to claims from German publication BILD.
And that money for the Germany international is good value as far as we’re concerned.
Raum was in absolutely exceptional form for Hoffenheim last season.
He bagged three goals and 13 assists in 32 Bundesliga games (Transfermarkt). Not bad for a left-back eh!
Football Talent Scout describe Raum as a ‘superb’ left-back.
At 24, Raum is not even in the prime of his career. And he seems at the ideal stage to make the jump up from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.
If Manchester United have indeed made an enquiry for Raum though, West Ham will surely face disappointment this summer.
