West Ham United have joined Leeds United in the race to sign Sampdoria centre-back Omar Colley according to an exclusive report from Club Doria 46.

And that will be bad news for the Whites, considering the Hammers’ current league position.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa will be desperate to bolster his central defensive ranks at Elland Road this summer.

The Whites have been very poor defensively this season, especially from set-pieces.

West Ham, meanwhile, have really impressed defensively.

With Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson set to turn 33 and 31 respectively before the start of next season, however, and Fabian Balbuena looking likely to leave, David Moyes may well be targeting the signing of an established centre-back this summer.

Club Doria 46 claims that Sampdoria ace Omar Colley could be the man for the job at the London Stadium.

Leeds may have to fight off West Ham for Omar Colley

That will come as somewhat of a blow for Leeds. West Ham are flying high at the moment. We are currently sitting in fifth spot in the Premier league table, just two points adrift of the top four.

If the Hammers qualify for Europe, there is every chance that Colley, 28, will be tempted to move to East London rather than join Leeds.

Club Doria 46 claims that it will take a minimum of €12 million (£10 million) to prise Colley away from Sampdoria in the summer.

With his powerful and imposing physique, the 6ft 3in centre-back seems to be ideally suited to the robust nature of the Premier League.

The 24-capped Gambia international is very strong in the air and is an extremely combative defender.

He really would be a great addition for West Ham. And Leeds will be ruing the fact that the Hammers have joined them in the race for Colley’s signature.
