Divock Origi appears to be closing in on a move to West Ham United this summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition July 24th, page 8), West Ham are now close to sign Divock Origi from AC Milan for as little as €8 million (£6.9 million) in the summer transfer window.

The East London outfit have been heavily linked with a move to sign the ex-Liverpool front-man for quite some time now, and a recent report claimed that we have opened talks to bring him back to the Premier League.

Hammers manager David Moyes needs to bolster his centre-forward ranks this summer, with Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio both being linked with the exit door.

And it seems as though Origi is the man Moyes wants for the job…

Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that after talks between the Hammers and Milan, the 28-year-old forward is set to move to the London Stadium for just £6.9 million.

He’s a very hard-working striker, has a decent turn of pace and has a history of scoring vitally important goals in big games – just look at his time with Liverpool.

Most West Ham fans would have been dreaming of a marquee striker signing this summer, and Origi certainly isn’t that.

However, the Belgian does have plenty of quality and he would definitely provide Moyes with a completely different option across the front-line.

Whilst Divock Origi won’t be the most exciting addition for West Ham, Moyes can’t really go wrong by bringing him to the London Stadium for just £6.9 million.

I think the Belgium international will be a very useful addition to the Scot’s ranks this summer.
