West Ham United have reportedly gone all in to land striker Maxi Gomez but the Uruguay star has gone… camping.
Yes you did read that correctly.
West Ham appeared to be closing in on an agreement with Celta Vigo for the star overnight.
It comes after West Ham were forced to dramatically step up their efforts to sign a forward following the pending sale of Marko Arnautovic (Sky Sports).

West Ham ramp up Gomez pursuit
Reports on Friday claimed West Ham were close to settling on a £45million fee with Celta (Claret & Hugh).
But the deal was in the balance with Gomez believed to prefer staying in Spain with Valencia (Sky Sports).
As speculation swirls, though, the player has quite literally gone off grid.

Gomez gets away from it all
Gomez has decided to go camping with family and friends in his native Uruguay.
He also took in a spot of fishing too.
Posting on Twitter Gomez wrote “Camping in Guichon” alongside pictures around a campfire and tent with his friends and family.
He was in the Uruguayan city of Paysandu the day before on a fishing trip, posting more pictures saying: “A nice fishing (trip) in the most beautiful city Paysandu, Uruguay.”

West Ham cast the bait
Guichon is a city in Uruguay and the striker looked blissfully unaware of the growing fanfare around his future.
If Gomez enjoys fishing that could give West Ham a new angle to sign him.
After all it is a favourite pastime of Hammers skipper Mark Noble!
Gomez is reportedly being offered a big salary to join the club. West Ham must now wait to see if he takes the bait.
