It has been claimed on The Transfer Window Podcast that the Gunners have initiated talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over a potential move to sign the £34 million rated striker.
Football journalist Duncan Castles has suggested that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a fan of the Portugal international and wants to bring him to the Emirates.
If Arsenal are genuinely in for Silva, it will obviously be a big blow for West Ham.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the 25-year-old to the London Stadium (Sport 1).
Arsenal making Andre Silva move makes West Ham task a very hard one
The Gunners entering the race for the prolific striker will be a real problem for the Hammers.
Silva would be an excellent addition for West Ham, so missing out on him to our London rivals would be a huge shame.
The 25-year-old was on fire in Germany last season. The Portugal international scored 28 goals in 32 Bundesliga games (Transfermarkt). He ended up ahead of Erling Haaland in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts and behind only one player – Robert Lewandowski.

He has so much talent and was once valued at a staggering €60 million (£53 million) according to ESPN.
At 25, Silva is at the ideal age to make the jump up to the Premier League from the Bundesliga.
He should be a player who West Ham are desperately trying to sign this summer.
Arsenal moving in on the Portuguese hitman is certainly an unwelcome inconvenience for the Hammers, however.
