Marko Arnautovic is up to his old tricks at West Ham again.
According to Sky Sports, he handed in a transfer request a couple of days ago. And they suggest that the Hammers then rejected a £19.7m bid from China for his services.
The Austrian’s actions over the past six months have made it clear that he doesn’t want to be at the club.
And West Ham now have a big decision to make.
Sell him, or let him rot in the reserves.
The latter obviously makes little business sense, as attractive as that scenario might seem for Hammers fans.
So how much is Arnautovic actually worth?
According to a report from the Evening Standard, West Ham will sell the 30-year-old for £40 million.
Well-renowned Hammers insider ExWHUemployee seemed to contradict that today, however.
He suggested that Arnie is in fact valued at around £25 million:
I am an ideal world I agree but when that players earns almost £150k a week, is valued around £25m now, effects squad moral and takes up wages of other players causing resentment, time to move on and get rid as soon as an acceptable offer comes in #teamex 😜 https://t.co/0XSweiI46n

If West Ham do in fact receive an offer of around £25 million for Arnautovic, it will surely be in their best interest to move him on.
The Austrian’s poor attitude could start affecting the rest of the squad, so the Hammers’ board must act ruthlessly and swiftly to get him out of the club as soon as possible.
Their ability to do just that could end up defining West Ham’s season.
