The Marko Arnautovic saga seems to be drawing to a close at West Ham.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Austrian is closing in on a £23 million switch to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG.

And Hammers fans will be glad to see the back fo the 30-year-old.

How close is Arnautovic to leaving West Ham, however?

Well-renowned Hammers insider ExWHUemployee took to Twitter this morning, and suggested that the only thing holding up the deal is the finalisation of personal terms  between the Chinese club and Arnie:

If West Ham do in fact manage to get rid of the Austria international by Monday, it would be great news for the east London outfit.

He has been nothing but trouble over the past six months. And he has undoubtedly had a detrimental effect on the team.

And if Manuel Pellegrini goes out and spends big money on two established forwards, West Ham will be in a far better place heading into the new campaign.

Quite who the Chilean has in mind, however, remains to be seen.
