These are exciting times for West Ham fans, with Marko Arnautovic gone, Pablo Fornals signed up and Maxi Gomez inching ever closer to a move to the London Stadium.
The London Evening Standard claims that the Hammers are close to hijacking Valencia’s £44 million move for the Uruguayan.
And what an incredible summer this could be for West Ham.
Arnautovic has been nothing more than an expensive nuisance over the past six months. So moving him on for £22.4 million has to be considered as good business.
And bringing in a player of Gomez’s calibre in his place is a real upgrade for the east London outfit.
Add to that the fact that Pablo Fornals has arrived from Villarreal for £24 million. And Manuel Pellegrini has the makings of a wonderfully exciting setup at the London Stadium.
West Ham fans desperately want their side to make a sustained push for the top six next season, and with the calibre of players on display at the club, there is every chance that they can do just that.
Maxi Gomez could be a real star in east London. He has all the qualities that Hammers fans love.
And if West Ham manage to get a deal for him over the line, it will signify the start of some really exciting times at the London Stadium.
