A month has passed since an extended summer transfer window effectively opened for business and West Ham fans are starting to worry.
With Premier League rivals making moves, there is serious concern the Hammers are being left behind.
There have been a string of stories of targets that have got away from West Ham so far.
The club’s board have been insisting since before the January window there can be no signings until sales are made.
Yet it emerged just last week that West Ham’s owners are permitted to inject £90m into the club should they want to.
The Hammers say £100m plus losses are on the horizon in the next accounts.
West Ham fans are livid at the situation.
Are West Ham really getting left behind in the transfer window?
Especially after three bumper years of revenue including consecutive European campaigns and the 100 per cent pure profit £105m sale of homegrown captain Declan Rice.
FIFA extended this summer’s window to the maximum allowable three months for the Club World Cup.
West Ham have not taken advantage, though, failing to make a single new signing in that additional month.
The obligation to buy Jean-Clair Todibo for £32m has kicked in this summer and the first instalment does have to come out of Graham Potter’s budget in this window.
So that goes down as an official deal for the Hammers, although the reality is no new signings have been made as of the end of the first month of the three-month window.
Potter promised supporters an “exciting and interesting” window as he pledged to rebuild West Ham around young, dynamic players.

The Englishman also stated he would “ideally” like to work with his new arrivals during pre-season.
But West Ham return to pre-season training in one week.
Many pundits and journalists are tipping the Hammers for relegation next season in what promises to be the most fiercely competitive Premier League for years.
Fans are anxious, fearing the lack of transfer activity and ambition will prove those West Ham sceptics right.
Newly-promoted Sunderland agreeing a deal to sign supposed West Ham target Habib Diarra sent many Hammers fans into meltdown at the weekend.
But are West Ham really getting left behind in the transfer window?
Here’s a full round-up of every Premier League deal so far as we assess whether it will soon be time to start panicking.
These are all the signings made so far by each of West Ham’s rivals in alphabetical order according to official confirmation by the Premier League.
Time to panic? Every Premier League signing as of June 30th 2025
Several clubs have deals lined up to kick in from July 1 while many – such as Arsenal and Chelsea – also have moves all but done having worked on them in the first month of the window.
Only three Premier League clubs are yet to have completed an official transfer in this summer window as of June 30th 2025, namely Arsenal, Fulham and Nottingham Forest.
West Ham are one of eight Premier League clubs who have only made one official confirmed signing so far this summer along with Aston Villa, Everton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Man United, Sunderland and Wolves.
Leeds and Bournemouth have each made two signings as of the end of June while Brentford and Spurs have made three apiece.
Man City and Chelsea have made four each while Brighton have made five, Liverpool six and Burnley seven.

One month down, two to go for Hammers rebuild
In terms of the signings made, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Brighton look to be “winning the window” so far.
With business done early, their managers will have all of pre-season to work with their players so they could be top tips to start well.
Although West Ham were the team who scooped that dubious honour last year and it failed to transpire after a £123m spend on nine signings.
Clearly other clubs are pushing ahead – particularly many of those who will be in and around the European mix.
Although a number of signings will be added to this list soon for several clubs, it still feels like a bit of a stretch, at this stage, to say West Ham are being “left behind”.
Until the likes of Everton, Villa, Newcastle, Wolves, Palace, Fulham and Forest start doing serious deals, perhaps West Ham should not hit the panic button just yet.
The next month will undoubtedly be crucial, though.
