West Ham United have reportedly been keen on Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers in the past but could he be their future?

The Scotsman reported back in December that Rodgers turned down an approach from the Hammers to remain at Celtic.

Stars aligning for Rodgers and West Ham after Celtic ‘fallout’?

Could the stars be aligning for the pair to finally be united, though?

West Ham splashed the cash to appoint Manuel Pellegrini in the summer.

They backed the Chilean with a £100 million spend, the kind of money Rodgers can only dream about at Celtic.

However, Pellegrini has struggled so far with defeats in each of his opening three games.

Pellegrini concerns already?

Meanwhile, up at Celtic a lack of spending has reportedly put Rodgers on a collision course with the club’s board.

Speculation has been rife the former Liverpool boss won’t be at Celtic Park much longer (Sky Sports).

And while it is far too early to write off project Pellegrini at West Ham, concerns are already being raised.

Some supporters and pundits feel the former Manchester City boss simply doesn’t fit in East London.

West Ham owners might be tempted if struggles continue

Many accuse Pellegrini of being out of touch with modern day Premier League tactics after two years in the footballing backwater that is China.

A tricky fixture list could see Pellegrini under intense pressure if results don’t improve.

Should Rodgers be potentially available that could tempt West Ham owners David Sullivan and David Gold to make a decision.

It is all ‘ifs and buts’.

Of course such talk will subside if Pellegrini starts getting a tune out of his new-look squad.

Failure to do that and Rodgers to West Ham rumours will not be far away.
