West Ham United’s striker situation is becoming something of a worry for fans.
West Ham have been chasing strikers all summer after letting Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez leave.
And with Marko Arnautovic set to follow them out of the exit door imminently it leaves Manuel Pellegrini short (Sky Sports).
Only Javier Hernandez would remain and he too has been linked with a move away.

West Ham striker conundrum
West Ham have been chasing a host of forwards.
Maxi Gomez has been their prime target (Evening Standard).
But Salomon Rondon and Aleksandar Mitrovic have also been heavily linked.

Gomez and Rondon leave Pellegrini on plan c?
Reports from Spain claim Gomez wants to join Valencia instead (Super Deporte).
And some outlets are reporting Rafa Benitez is moving to take Rondon to China with him (The Sun).
As a result West Ham may have to move on to plan c.
That is though to be Mitrovic.
Any hopes West Ham have of signing the Serbian have been extinguished, though, after he signed a surprise new contract with Fulham on Sunday night.

Another one bites the dust
“The club is absolutely delighted to announce that Aleksandar Mitrović has committed his future to Fulham,” the Cottagers announced on their official website.
“Our number nine has agreed a new extended contract with the Whites, keeping him in SW6 until the summer of 2024.”
Mitrovic described Fulham as his ‘home’.
And that leaves Pellegrini putting all his eggs in the Gomez basket.
If that fails attentions will probably turn to injury-prone Callum Wilson or Porto striker Moussa Marega.
