Central midfield is definitely an area where Hammers boss David Moyes will like to improve before the transfer window slams shut.

The Scot needs to bring more competition and cover for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek to the London Stadium.

Alex Kral is a name who has persistently been linked with a move to West Ham since January.

And now it seems as though the Czech Republic international could be finally set to join the Hammers.

Alex Kral to join West Ham

That’s according to a report from Russia Football News.

The 23-year-old is allegedly close to joining the Hammers on a season-long loan. We then will have an option to buy the midfielder next summer.

The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas recently claimed that Kral could be available for around £12 million.

Whether that is the fee West Ham can sign him for next summer remains to be seen, however.

Either way, we think the Czech ace will be a superb addition for the Hammers.

In 29 league outings for Spartak Moscow last season, the Czech Republic international registered five assists and averaged 1.5 tackles, 1.8 interceptions, 0.8 clearances and 0.8 dribbles per game. During those appearances, he made 56 passes per match on average with a completion rate of 81% (Who Scored).

Let’s hope we manage to get this one over the line.

Deals for Alphonse Areola, Kurt Zouma and Nikola Vlasic have been done already this summer. Perhaps there are more incomings on the horizon too.

What a transfer deadline day this is turning out to be for the West Ham fans!
