West Ham’s Interest In Florent Malouda
West Ham have recently been linked with Florent Malouda who was recently released by Chelsea after six years at the club. Malouda has a very successful time and Chelsea and impressed me on a number of different occasions. But would he suit West Ham?
Malouda is a very creative player and proved this at Chelsea. We have to remember that Malouda is currently on a free and that is something West Ham are currently looking at due to a lot of our summer budget going on our new signing, Andy Carroll. Malouda on a free certainly sounds satisfying.
I think a stumbling block we could come across is the wages involved. I could imagine that Malouda would want a fairly high wage. Most players that play from Chelsea are normally played a lot so I wouldn’t imagine Malouda would want to significantly drop his wages.
But, as already mentioned, Malouda is on a free so it would come down to the decision, providing no other teams are in for him, that he would join West Ham or simply not play for anyone.
I do believe though that this interest isn’t very serious because there hasn’t been much more regarding West Ham and Malouda since the first rumour began. I think that Malouda would be a good signing on a free and if we managed to not pay him ridiculous wages.
So if the opportunity came around for West Ham to sign Malouda, then I believe that it would be a good bit of business from West Ham.
