Whatever happens this season, West Ham boss David Moyes absolutely must sign at least one established striker in the summer.

Incredibly, the Hammers decided against bringing a new centre-forward to the London Stadium in January.

Whether that was down to Moyes or the board is up for debate.

Many believe that David Sullivan and David Gold quite simply haven’t backed Moyes sufficiently in transfer market. Karren Brady is far from popular at the London Stadium either.

The Hammers co-owners and the vice-chairman have riled the West Ham fanbase over the past few years with a succession of lies and broken promises.

They have a chance to get the fans back inside now, however. In order to do that though, there has to be no doubt about their ambition. A statement needs to be made and it needs to be made soon.

Here are three strikers West Ham should go all out for in the summer…

Danny Ings

The hard-working striker has really impressed for Southampton, scoring 42 goals in 88 games so far (Transfermarkt). He is hard working and is a non-stop menace for opposing defenders. If West Ham finish inside the top six this season, there is every chance we will be able to attract Ings into moving to the London Stadium in the summer.

The 24-year-old has racked up 23 goals and nine assists in 28 Championship games for the Brentford this season (Transfermarkt). The Bees striker has electric pace, is prolific in front of goal and is a real handful for opposing defenders.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for Rovers this season with 19 goals in 30 games to his name thus far (Transfermarkt). He possesses blistering pace and is an incredibly hard worker. The 24-year-old seems to be ideally suited to David Moyes’s setup at the London Stadium.

GSB have a lot of work to do if they are to repair the damage done between them and the fans.

Some would say too many bridges have been burned already whilst others will say it’s never too late to make amends.

And if Sullivan and Gold truly have any ambition to achieve great things at West Ham, signing one or two of the strikers mentioned above would be a great start.
