West Ham fans have been waiting with bated breath for the Jarrod Bowen deal to go through today.
Sky Sports reported this morning (Live Transfer Feed, 08:00) that the Hammers had agreed a £20 million fee with Hull for the 23-year-old attacker.
They then claimed at 14:58 via their live transfer blog that talks had stalled between West Ham and Bowen.
As various media outlet continued to provide updates on the Hull man’s proposed move to West Ham, and the 11pm deadline got closer and closer, Hammers fans began to get worried.
Sky Sports have reported in the last hour (Live Transfer Feed, 21:31), however, that they expect Bowen to sign a contract with the Hammers imminently.
Carlos Sanchez staying
That’s according to the Guardian (Live Transfer Blog, 20:14). The Colombian is out of contract in the summer, and it seems as though West Ham fans will have to wait a few more months before they see the back of the midfield flop.
Bowen will likely be the only addition today
ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham are unlikely to make any signings aside from Jarrod Bowen tonight:
All in all, it hasn’t been a bad transfer window. Darren Randolph and Tomas Soucek have arrived with Bowen reportedly set to follow. And Roberto has been loaned out.
Ok, maybe David Moyes needed one or two more players, but West Ham surely have enough to stay up now with the three additions that they have made.
And the imminent deal to sign Bowen will give the whole club a much needed boost.
