Manuel Pellegrini should consider starting Lucas Perez against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Spaniard arrived at the London Stadium from the Gunners in a £5 million deadline day deal a few weeks ago.

The 29-year-old opted to move on after failing to break into the Arsenal first team.

Last term he was loaned out to former club Deportivo La Coruna.

Perez made his Hammers debut last weekend against Bournemouth after coming off the bench for the final 13 minutes.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t impact the game and rescue a point for the home side.

Perez to start against old club Arsenal?

It might be in Pellegrini’s best interests to consider starting Perez against Arsenal.

The forward’s stint at the Emirates was pretty disappointing, and he will surely be hungry to prove a point; just like Jack Wilshere.

Many felt that Perez wasn’t treated fairly by former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

He showed glimpses of his ability, including the time he scored a hat-trick against Ludogorets in the Champions League.

An axe to grind

The Frenchman definitely treated him harshly, and most Arsenal fans were sorry to see him leave.

Emery was happy to let the player leave for a snip £5 million fee, and the player will be itching to play.

It was always going to be hard for Perez following the signings of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

On Saturday Pellegrini should definitely consider using Perez and Marko Arnautovic as a pairing.

What’s more, he knows the games of the Arsenal defenders and could exploit them.
